I have this ability to look at something and be able to figure out how to knit it. Years ago I thought to myself, “I want to knit some hearts!” so I did.

Recently I have been thinking about those hearts and what I could make with a mess of them. At first I thought of a scarf but I have so many of those. Then I figured why not make the next best thing – a knit headband that not only looks cute but warms your ears – and that’s what I made.

I lost a pair of solid fingerless gloves with a big chunk of ribbing on the wrist and end and at the same time, I stumbled upon this amazing Frog Tree Brushed Suri yarn at a yarn store and just HAD to make something with it, so that was what my next project was going to be.

Thing is, the fabric being as old as it was, started to come apart and while that was sad, the pillows remain perfectly fine and they don’t make pillows like this anymore. One day, I decided to knit up some pillowcases to protect the pillows and that is how these came about.
